Metropolitan Anthony of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Diaspora (Patriarchate of Constantinople), 77, has been hospitalized again.

He was previously hospitalized for several days in January in connection with a known heart issue.

The UOC-USA published a brief message from Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylion about Met. Anthony’s current hospitalization yesterday:

Beloved brethren,

I humbly ask for your fervent prayers for His Eminence Metropolitan Antony, the spiritual father of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Diaspora, who is undergoing a heart procedure today. Let us unite in spirit, lifting him up to our Lord, asking for a successful surgery and a swift recovery.

Additionally, please pray for the doctors who will operate on him and the medical staff who will care for him. May the Holy Spirit guide their hands, grant them wisdom, and bring comfort and healing to our beloved Metropolitan Antony.

In Christ's Love,

Archbishop Daniel

O Holy Father, Heavenly Physician of our souls and bodies, who sent Your Only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those in illness: visit and heal Your servant, our Metropolitan Antony, granting him release from pain and restoration to health and vigor, that he may give thanks unto You and bless Your holy Name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.”

Archbishop Daniel was also hospitalized in December.
