Orthodox homeless assistance center opens in Novosibirsk (+VIDEO)

On October 10, a branch of the Tabor Orthodox center for helping the homeless was opened in Novosibirsk.

The new center was consecrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikodim of Novosibirsk and Berdsk, reports the Novosibirsk Metropolis.

With support support the Ministry of Social Development, the Novosibirsk Diocese is running several socially significant projects, including assistance for people in difficult situation, who have no shelter or identification, and those who have support from relatives and friends.

The newly renovated building of the homeless center can accommodate 40 residents, providing shelter, food, and legal and psychological assistance to those in need.

Minister of Labor and Social Development Elena Bakhareva thanked Met. Nikodim and the staff of the Novosibirsk Diocese for their concern and development of such significant projects. “We have state institutions that assist people in this category, but a much broader range of individuals can seek help here. Thanks to our collaborative efforts, the effectiveness of providing assistance will only increase,” Bakhareva emphasized.
