More than 100 widows of clergy of the Moscow City Diocese received financial assistance from the diocese in the second quarter of 2024, reports Patriarchia.ru.
The Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church held in February 2013 adopted a regulation on the material and social support for clergy, church workers, and employees of religious organizations and their family members, according to which a registry of need family members of deceased clergy is compiled annually.
During the second quarter of this year, 97 widows of deceased diocesan clergymen and 11 widows of clergy assigned to stavropegic monasteries received necessary financial assistance.
