Macedonian hierarchs join Patriarch Kirill for Liturgy on feast of St. Sergius of Radonezh (+VIDEO)

Hierarchs of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric concelebrated with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and representatives of other Local Churches for the feast of St. Sergius of Radonezh yesterday.

This was the first time that Macedonian hierarchs served with the Russian primate since the Russian Orthodox Church recognized the autocephaly of the Macedonian Church in August 2022.

The Divine Liturgy was held in the Dormition Cathedral of the Holy Trinity-Sergius Lavra, which was founded by St. Sergius in the early 14th century. The Patriarch was joined by over 30 Russian bishops and representatives of several Local Orthodox Churches, reports Patriarchia.ru.

From the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the delegation included His Eminence Metropolitan Peter of Prespa and Pelagonia, His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Veles, vicar of the Prespa-Pelagonia Diocese, and Hieromonk Athanasios (Arsoski), head of the Publishing Department of the Skopje Diocese.

Representatives of other Local Churches who permanently serve in Moscow also concelebrated: His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky) of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, and Archpriest Daniel Andreyuk of the Orthodox Church in America.

Following the service in the Dormition Cathedral, Pat. Kirill served a moleben before the venerated icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh. He then proceeded to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, where he celebrated a glorification service before the relics of St. Sergius.

Hierarchical Divine Liturgies were also celebrated in other churches of the Lavra for the feast.
