A Dutch-language version of the Serbian Orthodox song Deca Neba has been released on the Orthodox Benelux YouTube channel under the title Gods Kinderen (God’s Children). The song expresses the Christian longing for Heavenly bread and the desire to belong to God and His kingdom.

The song is performed by singers from various Serbian Orthodox parishes in the Netherlands and Belgium. The accompanying music video features footage from Serbian Orthodox church life in the Netherlands, including scenes from the Divine Liturgy, the Sacrament of Marriage, a children’s gathering, and the Baptism of a group of Dutch catechumens in the Lek River.

The video was filmed at the Holy Trinity Parish in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in the old center of Dordrecht, along the banks of the Lek River, and at various rural locations in the Molenlanden municipality. All scenes shown in the video depict actual events from parish life.

According to the channel, this is the first Orthodox song with a music video to be released in Dutch. The project was created with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Justin Jeremić of Western Europe of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The song and video highlight how people from different backgrounds have found their place within the Serbian Orthodox community in the Netherlands and Belgium.

VERSE 1

We are God's children,
Of the Heavenly Father
Everything we are and have
We have thanks to God
Our body, and our soul,
A heart of tenderness,
To be able to love
The Lord in truth

CHORUS

Deep inside, deep longing
For the Heavenly bread.
Good fruits of the earth,
Do not save from death

VERSE 2

We are God’s children,
Of the Heavenly Father
We dwell here on earth
But live in the spirit
To the Lord we pray
Exalt Him the most
We strive for the eternal
Heavenly feast

CHORUS

VERSE 3

We are God’s children,
Of the Heavenly Father
Everything we are and have
We have thanks to God
Peace, comfort and strength
Joy and truth…
Faith, hope and love
For He is always there

CHORUS
