More than three dozen residents of a Cameroonian village were received into the Orthodox Church in late April.
The reception took place on April 25, at the new parish of the Russian Orthodox Church’s African Exarchate dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Ntui in central Cameroon.
37 local residents entered the Church that day. Fr. Pavel Atangana and Fr. Herman Mbarga, deans of the Central and Western church districts of Cameroon respectively, baptized 25 people. Another 12 were received into the Church through the Sacrament of Chrismation, the Exarchate reports.

Catechetical instruction continues at St. Nicholas parish for other catechumens who wish to embrace the Orthodox faith.
Mass baptisms are common in Cameroon and throughout Africa. OrthoChristian previously reported that more than 50 members of a non-canonical group in Cameroon joined the Russian Orthodox Church's African Exarchate in June 2024.
