More than eight in ten young Romanians view religious faith as essential for developing a moral life, according to the latest INSCOP Research Barometer released this week.

The findings come from the ninth edition of the survey, conducted between April 1-7, among a nationally representative sample of 1,100 people through telephone interviews, reports the Basilica News Agency.

The survey examined Romanians’ perceptions of 12 different values, evaluated through a series of statements to which respondents expressed their agreement or disagreement.

The statement “Faith is important for having a moral life” ranked first among all values tested, with an agreement level of 89.4% among the general population, making it one of the most strongly supported ideas in the entire study.

Among young people between 18 and 29 years old, support exceeded 80%, indicating that despite social and cultural changes, faith remains an important reference point for defining moral values in this age group.
