According to tradition, Sts. Peresvet and Oslyabya were exceptional warriors whose fame spread far beyond their home principalities. They were clearly battle-hardened, formidable fighters with innumerable victories to their names. Yet, something drove each of them individually to seek a different path.
Hieromartyr Benjamin was condemned for his sharply negative attitude towards the Renovationist schism.
His next step was to lead his people along the same path that he himself had walked. From then on, the path of the prince and his people was the path of an Orthodox nation.
