Services have begun at the Church of the Prophet Elijah in the mountain village of Magulo, Philippines, following the recent completion of the church’s roof.
The Divine Liturgy at the still-under-construction church was celebrated on August 2, the 9th Sunday after Pentecost and the feast day of the Prophet Elijah, reports the Russian Orthodox Church’s Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam.

The Liturgy was celebrated by Fr. Dimitri Kahilig, a cleric of the deanery, with the assistance of Deacon Elijah Aleria, who is currently serving forty days of Liturgies following his ordination.
Vespers was celebrated at the church the evening before.
During the celebration, Fr. Dimitri congratulated the faithful on the feast day and offered congratulations to newly ordained Deacon Elijah on his name day.
