The Coalition for the Family has gathered 825,000 signatures for the proposal of revising article 48, paragraph 1 of the Romanian Constitution in order to define marriage as the freely consented union between a man and a woman. In a press conference, the members of the initiative committee clarified Wednesday, 20 January 2016, a number of aspects related to how the campaign of signature collection has been organized.

There are currently nearly 80,000 volunteers and almost 40 county committees of the Coalition for the Family who will carry on this campaign of signature collection. There are already over 825,000 signatures, but we will continue, the president of the initiative committee for the revision of the Constitution, Mr Mihai Gheorghiu, said for Trinitas TV.

In order to emphasize the importance of family in the society, the initiators of this project aim to collect a higher number of signatures than required by law. We mention that 500,000 of valid signatures from citizens eligible to vote are required according to the Romanian law to be collected in order to initiate a revision of the Constitution.

The initiative committee consists of 16 members, while the Coalition for the Family is comprised of 23 NGOs.

I WILL always believe that it is only and only only a man and a women be in a marriage. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the maker of Heaven and Earth. I believe to never go against his word. Amen!
