A wooden altar cross started bleeding in St. Catherine Orthodox church in the town of Zdolbunov in the Rovno Region of Ukraine.

"After the Liturgy of the Presanctified gifts, when I took the cross for exclaimign the final prayers, a dark spot was discovered near the left eye of Christ the Savior, its color looked like human blood. Looking closer, we saw a flow of blood. To examine the blood we made several enlarged photographs. When we looked at them, we saw not one, but two streams running from the eyes of the Savior," the priest was quoted as saying by the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

He explains the event saying that the Lord grieves over the persecutions His Church is subjected to in Ukraine.

The cleric reported the miraculous event to Metropolitan Bartholomew of Rovno and Ostrog. The hierarch visited the church and blessed the making of an icon case for the cross and to carry the shrine out for veneration.

That is not what that traditionally means, but rather it is a call to repent. Given the situation in the Ukraine, I would refer to Deuteronomy 28 and
Leviticus 26.
