Odessa priest becomes the champion of Ukraine in powerlifting

The rector of the Dormition Church in the village of Chervonoarmeyskoye in the Odessa Region, Fr. Viktor Kochmar has won two gold medals in the Ukrainian powerlifting championship.

Over 300 athletes participated in competitions held in Krivoy Rog. The priest won in two categories: age and open, the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports.

In November 2015, Fr. Viktor became the world champion in powerlifting at the competitions in Portugal.

So remarkable is the life Of this wondrous Saint, so full of miracles, that we tend to overlook those points which, with prayer, can be applied to our own circumstances. Even his childhood gives a picture of an exemplary Christian life. How many contemporary mothers are so solicitous over the spiritual needs of their children even while they are still in the womb? How many of us turn first to God in time of need and teach our children to do likewise?
