“Tens of thousands of Romanian-Americans will peacefully demonstrate in over twenty metropolitan cities in the United States and Canada, Romania’s largest cities, renowned cities across Europe, and Australia, denouncing the abuses perpetrated by Norway’s Child Protection Services (BARNEVERNET) by impudently abducting all five children of Marius & Ruth Bodnariu,” stated Pastor Cristian Ionescu of Chicago, Illinois, and spokesman for the Bodnariu family.
The Bodnarius had their five children suddenly taken from them in Norway in November and placed into three separate homes, after the daughters were overheard singing Christian songs at school. Among the reasons listed why they were supposedly unfit parents was that they are "radical Christians who were indoctrinating their children," after the daughters admitted that they were sometimes punished by their parents for misbehavior. The school principal acknowledges that no physical abuse was happening in the Bodnariu home, but simply that they were in need of “help and guidance” from BARNEVERNET to properly raise their children.
A petition, Facebook page, and global protests were launched, demanding that the Norwegian government return the Bodnariu children and seriously reform its BARNEVERNET program which has clandestinely taken children from their parents because “Clean clothes are not placed in ‘military order’ in the cupboard;” “The psychologist registered that the mother could not make an omelet to his satisfaction and she cuts the bread into too thick slices;” “The mother uses too much soap when cleaning;” and “The father has a foot injury and cannot stand on a ladder. Therefore he is not able to clean the top of the window frames,” among a host of other equally absurd excuses to tear families apart.
Thankfully the youngest child, the eight-month old Ezekiel, was recently returned to his family after four and a half months in a foster home.
The Bodnarius reunited with their youngest son Ezekiel after four and a half months.
However the four older children remain separated from their parents and from each other, and so the global protests continue tomorrow across Europe, in America and Canada, and in Australia and New Zealand.
