The all-Russian movement “Women for Life” will hold a rally against abortion on March 10 in the center of Moscow. The women will form a picket line along the entire length of Tverskaya Street from Pushkin Square to the Kremlin, “Women for Life” leader Natalia Moskvitina told Interfax-Religion on Tuesday.
According to her, the purpose of the rally is to show that, if women earlier demanded equal rights with men, then now “women’s main right is now at risk—the right to bear a healthy child.”
As N. Moskvitina notes, the event aims to show that women standing against abortion today are not just poorly-educated and provincial, “but modern and stylish residents of the metropolis, who have not been prevent from finding success in life by bearing one or even several children.”
“Among the members of our movement are representatives of various professions, achieving great career success. And each one has not just one or two children. A large family not only does not interfere in a career, but it even helps to achieve great success and social recognition,” she added.
