His Eminence Archbishop Theodosios (Atallah Hannah) of Sebastia the Jerusalem Patriarchate was reportedly hospitalized on Wednesday, December 18.
According to Quds TV, with reference to local sources, the Archbishop was rushed to the hospital after an Israeli gas canister was fired into a church in Jerusalem where he was at the time.
His Eminence is known as an outspoken and staunch critic of Israeli policies against Palestinians.
“We will remain in Jerusalem, defending our religious sites and endowments. We reject the policies of the occupation. We will not surrender. Our motto will always be: freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people. Our religious sites will remain ours. Jerusalem will remain ours,” he said at the “First Global Conference on Israeli Apartheid in Istanbul a few weeks ago.

According to the journalists and political commentator Marwa Osman, His Eminence suffered from temporary paralysis, but is now recovering well.
