Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, the Chairman of the Russian Church’s Patriarchal Commission for Family and Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, has recovered from the coronavirus and returning to his ministry, a source close to his family told RIA-Novosti yesterday.

Fr. Dimitry was hospitalized on May 5 with pneumonia, testing positive for the coronavirus. On Sunday, Fr. Dimitry reported that he was feeling much better and was in a regular room in the hospital, with a normal temperature.

“Fr. Dimitry is recovering. He’s fine,” the source said yesterday, adding that the latest COVID-19 test returned negative results.
