A new mural of great departed Serbian hierarchs has appeared in Belgrade.

The art, the handiwork of the young artist Matija Popović, depicts His Holiness Patriarch Pavle, who led the Serbian Church from 1990 until his repose in 2009, and His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro, who reposed just last month.

The mural is on Mirijevski Street, in the neighborhood of the same name. It first appeared on Sunday, November 15, the 11th anniversary of the holy Patriarch’s repose, reports Romfea.

Popović said the painting is a gesture of gratitude to two great people for everything they did for the Serbian people.

Murals of Met. Amfilohije have also recently been painted in the city of Foča in Republika Srpska in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in Niš, Serbia.
