His Eminence Metropolitan Barsanuphius of St. Petersburg took to the skies yesterday to bless the city as it continues to battle the coronavirus epidemic. New cases have been on the rise again since early this month.

The hierarch and accompanying clergy flew over the city in a helicopter with icons of Christ the Savior, and of Sts. Alexander Nevsky, St. Ksenia of St. Petersburg, and St. John of Kronstadt, whose relics are major pilgrimage points in St. Petersburg, reports the Metropolis of St. Petersburg.

They flew three times over the borders of the city singing a moleben of thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ and the Akathists to Sweetest Jesus and the Most Holy Theotokos.
