17 souls united to Christ in Holy Baptism in Kenya

“We had a blessed day today,” writes His Grace Bishop Neofitos of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya.

Photo: Facebook Photo: Facebook With thanks to the priests of the Nyahururu Deanery, Fr. Francis, Fr. Elpis, and Fr. Nicholas, Bp. Neofitos announces that 17 people, both children and adults, were baptized into Christ in His holy Orthodox Church on Saturday.

The joyous occasion was celebrated at the Archangel Michael Mission Church in Nyahururu. “We thank God for this great mission,” His Grace writes.

Holy Orthodoxy is spreading quickly in Africa, where mass Baptisms are a frequent occurrence. OrthoChristian has reported on mass Baptisms at St. Irene Orthodox Mission and Orphanage in February 2018, in Nairobi in July 2018, at the St. Barnabas Orphanage and School in January 2019, at the St. Nina Mission Center and Orphanage in December 2020, and at St. Tabitha’s Orphanage in February 2021, and at the St. Athanasios Orthodox Foster Care-Orphanage Home and School in March 2021.

May our Lord bless each and every one of the newly baptized. For those watching and praying through social media, help spread the Gospel b sharing these posts. Take also to the heart the needs of these parish communities of the newly baptized. Our children need both your prayers and basic things of food, safety. Safety in the Covid 19 pandemic means good nutrition, CLEAN accessible water, and access to education. All needed elements to grow fully in the faith and be soldiers for Christ and NOT later be SOLD, to ungodly events and things. God is with us!
