Hackers recently attacked and gained access to email addresses associated with the Synodal Liturgical Commission and the Nova Kakhovka Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. All diocesan email accounts had to be deleted following the attack.

According to a statement from the Secretariat of the Synodal Liturgical Commission, hackers gained access to the account of the Commission chairman and the personal account of His Eminence Metropolitan Philaret of Nova Kakhovka and Genichesk.

Thus, diocesan email accounts and the account of the Commission chairman have been deleted, and updates to the diocesan website have been suspended indefinitely. Any messages coming from these addresses in the future are to be considered fraudulent.

The faithful are also asked to be on guard for disinformation and deep fakes aimed at discrediting the Church and inciting inter-confessional hostility.
