A student armed with a hunting rifle opened fire at the school on Monday, killing eight and wounding dozens more.

The Church responded by creating a working group of clergy who are ready to provide immediate assistance and spiritual support to the victims and their families, reports the diocesan press service.

The clergy are also working with a group of psychologists and are in contact with the local Ministry of Health.

Both Met. Methodius and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill have offered their condolences, and memorial services for the victims were served in all churches of the Perm Diocese.
