More accolades for Man of God film: people’s choice for best actor and actress

Yelena Popovic’s film Man of God, dedicated to the great 20th-century Holy Hierarch and Wonderworker St. Nektarios of Aegina, continues to delight audiences around the world.

The movie has topped Greek and Cypriot box offices and taken home a number of awards at competitions in Europe and America.

Yesterday, the film’s official Facebook page announced the latest accolades: “Congratulations to @aris_servetalis and Karyofyllia Karabetti for winning Best Actor and Best Actress at the @athensvoice People’s Choice Awards for #manfogodthemovie!”

Aris Servetalis plays the lead role of St. Nektarios, and Karyofyllia Karabetti plays the role of Voula.

Athens Voice announced the winners on Thursday.

Man of God will be shown at 800 theaters throughout the U.S. for one night only, on March 21. Tickets are now available online.

The film made its international debut at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival in April, where it won the coveted Audience Award. It also took home the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival in May. In the fall, it took home the Best International Film Award from the Siena International Film Festival and the Grand Prize in the Spirit of Faith at the Religion Today International Film Festival in Trento, Italy.

According to IMDB, the film has won several other awards as well: Best Diaspora Film and Best Screenplay at the 2021 Chicago Serbian Film Fest; Best Feature Film (Audience Choice Award) and Best Narrative Feature, Best of the Fest, and Best Supporting Actor for Mickey Rourke (Festival Awards) at the 2021 Great Lakes Christian Film Festival; and Grand Prize in the Spirit of Faith for director Yelena Popovic at the 2021 Religion Today Film Festival.
