Photo: Facebook Photo: Facebook The St. Tikhon Choir, the professional chamber choir of St. Tikhon’s Monastery in Waymart, Pennsylvania, received another Grammy nomination this year.

This time the nod came for the choir’s recording of Benedict Sheehan’s Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, which was released in the fall of 2020, in the Best Choral Performance category.

The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Classical charts.

Though the Choir didn’t take home the prize, Sheehan considers it an honor to have been nominated. “Maybe we didn’t win a trophy today, but I think it was still a win for beauty. To see such great choral music getting the attention of the world is a true gift,” he said.

The St. Tikhon Choir was also nominated last year for its live recording of Alexander Kastalsky’s Requiem for Fallen Brothers.

Benedict Sheehan is also a co-founder of the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music Institute, which was nominated for Grammys in 2019 and 2020.

What is the significance of the lavender ribbon on this "Grammy Nominee" medal? It's insult!
