According to a recent survey of Serbian youth aged 15 to 30, His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije is the most trusted public figure in the nation.

Additionally, the Church is the only institution to have made significant gains since 2017, reports Danas.

According to research from the Youth Umbrella Organization conducted from May to July, the most trusted institution among the youth is the Serbian army (2.88/5), followed by the Church (2.72). While Serbian youth generally don’t trust institutions very much, it is noticeable that the Church jumped from 2.1 to 2.72 over the course of five years.

The least trusted institutions are the presidency and the government.

As for public figures, the youth gave the highest rating to Pat. Porfirije (2.71), and the lowest to Prime Minister Ana Brnabić (1.46).

Unfortunately, at the same time, the youth see little value in religion and belonging to religious groups (2.95) as compared to personal freedom (4.72), environmental protection (4.57), and solidarity and assistance to the economically disadvantaged (4.45).
