Gulu, Uganda, October 11, 2022
Dozens of people of all ages were united to Christ in His holy Orthodox Church in a mass Baptism service in Uganda over the weekend.
Fr. Simon Menya of Gulu, Uganda writes:
On Saturday numbered 115 Christians were baptized, illumined and anointed with Holy Chrism. Thanks to Bishop NEKTARIOS who presided at this Holy Sacrament and was accompanied by Fr. Frumentios and Fr. Benedict where through putting on Christ, my people have been cleansed and sanctified in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Please pray for my lovely Orthodox Christians
Mass Baptisms are a common occurrence in Uganda and throughout Africa.
Dozens were baptized in Uganda during Great Lent, 20 were baptized in November, and another 20 in December. 17 were baptized at the new St. John the Wonderworker Mission Center in Kampala, Uganda, in June.
