Zaporozhye, Ukraine, October 13, 2022
Thanks to the love and care of the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church, a children’s hospital in Zaporozhye received some necessary medical equipment earlier this week.
The local Ukrainian hierarch, His Eminence Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye delivered the equipment to the Zaporozhye City Children’s Hospital No. 5 on Monday as part of the “Love is Merciful” charity project, the Zaporozhye Diocese reports.
“Thanks to the common care and professionalism of the doctors, as well as the kind and loving hearts of the parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and now also of the Serbian Orthodox Church, our children will be able to recover faster and get sick less. I’m sure that the new equipment purchased at the expense of our brothers and sisters from Serbia will only contribute to this,” Met. Luke stressed.
The hospital director Andrei Grigorievich warmly thanked Met. Luke and all the Serbian faithful for their generosity.
“We apply new technologies and techniques and have already achieved significant success in the use of endoscopic methods in surgical intervention, the treatment of allergic diseases, and rehabilitation after serious illnesses and operations. Our hospital is one of the few that has its own dialysis center for children,” Grigorievich said.
The donated equipment helps diagnose cardiovascular pathologies, arrhythmias, and myocardial ischemia in patients, and much more.
