The Ukrainian Orthodox Church continues to receive necessary humanitarian aid from their Orthodox brethren in other countries, to be distributed to the suffering and those in need throughout Ukraine.
Most recently, His Eminence Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye was able to donate medical equipment to the Zaporozhye Children’s Hospital, purchased with donations from Czech Orthodox friends and Ukrainians living there, reports the Zaporozhye Diocese.
Met. Luke commented:
If someone near us needs help, there will always be caring people who are ready to provide it. The Lord understands how hard it is for our children today, and does everything to ease the burden of their suffering. He wants them to never get sick and always be happy. And such a life will surely come. It’s in our power to bring such a life closer, if, of course, each of us begins to fulfill one single commandment of Christ—the commandment of love.
Earlier this month, Met. Luke also donated equipment purchased with donations from Serbian Orthodox faithful.
Humanitarian aid also arrived to the central Ukrainian Kremenchug Diocese from the Czech Republic and from Poland, the diocese reports.
About 660 pounds of aid were collected, including children and adult clothing and shoes, food, hygiene products, and household chemicals, as well as waterproof sleeping bags, drones, and warm underwear for soldiers.
And in the western Diocese of Rivne, humanitarian aid was received from the Romanian Orthodox Church—the fifth such shipment from the Romanians—including food and hygiene products that will be distributed to the families of fallen soldiers.
