Belgrade, November 11, 2022
His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, head of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Department for External Church Relations, visited the Russian representation church in Belgrade yesterday.
Together, the hierarchs consecrated two new crosses for the domes and the new Holy Trinity mosaic above the entrance to the Holy Trinity Church, reports the Serbian Orthodox Church.
“This church is a symbol of the unity of our Orthodox Churches and our Orthodox peoples. Our unity is unity in the Lord Christ, which means in eternity,” Pat. Porfirije said.
After the rite of consecration, the crosses were installed on the domes of the church.
Met. Anthony also read out a decree from His Holiness Patriarch Moscow awarding Archpriest Vitaly Tarasiev, who has served at the Russian representation church in Belgrade for many years, with the right to wear the miter. He was also presented with the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, III Degree in honor of the 30th anniversary of his priesthood.
