An Orthodox prayer book was recently published in Malagasy, the national language of Madagascar, reports the Russian Orthodox Church’s African Exarchate.

Prayer books were previously published in Tiv (Nigeria), Kirundi (Burundi) and Swahili.
Malagasy is the westernmost Malayo-Polynesian language, spoke by about 25 million people in Madagascar and the Comoros. Most people in Madagascar speak it as their first language.
