The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America sponsored a screening of the award-winning film Man of God in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, September 21, the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The event was held at the Museum of the Bible. His Grace Bishop Irinej opened the showing of the film about the 20th-century holy hierarch and wonderworker St. Nektarios of Aegina with an invocation and a introductory speech, reports the Diocese of Eastern America.

The film was also introduced by the filmmaker herself, Yelena Popovic.

Following the screening, a panel consisting of the Popovic, Fr. Paul Abernathy, and Prof. Dr. Terrence Lindvall spoke about the personal, pastoral, and artistic impact the film has had.

“To the delight of everyone present, Mrs. Popovic revealed that her next project will be a feature film about the life of Saint Moses the Black,” the diocese writes.

Man of God has won more than a dozen international awards, including the Grand Prize Jury at the Religion Today Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Moscow International Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, the Best International Film Award at the Siena International Film Festival, and the Audience Award and Best Director Award at the St. Andrew’s Film Festival.
