On December 21, His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol solemnly handed over the keys to a new house to a mother and her child with severe physical disorders.

Maria Tenishcheva’s 12-year-old son Maxim has suffered from severe epilepsy and cerebral palsy all his life. He is unable to move by himself and suffers frequent seizures every day, the diocese reports.

The new home is especially equipped for Maxim. The walls in his room are padded and the doors are expanded for his wheelchair to fit. The family has been in need of such housing for many years.

The solemn presentation of the keys was attended by various diocesan, governmental, and media representatives and benefactors.

Met. Kirill wished the family health and God’s help as he handed them the keys and a copy of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
