Romanian and Ukrainian hierarchs concelebrate in Germany

Hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church concelebrated in Germany this weekend.

His Grace Bishop Sofian of Brașov, vicar of the Metropolis of Germany, Central and Northern Europe of the Romanian Orthodox Church, celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the patronal feast of the Romanian Orthodox Church of the Exaltation on the Cross in Munich yesterday, together with His Eminence Archbishop Sylvester of Belogorod, rector of the Kiev Theological Seminary and Academy, reports the UOC’s Information-Education Department.

Abp. Sylvester is accompanied on his visit to Germany by the Kiev theological schools chancellery, Archdeacon Nikodim (Shevchuk).

After the Divine Liturgy, Abp. Sylvester congratulated the church community on their patronal feast and spoke about the life and activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church during wartime.

In his words of gratitude, Bp. Sofian of Brașov conveyed thanks to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry for the opportunity of fraternal communion and expressed prayerful support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
