Over 500 Muslim Brotherhood members sentenced to death in Egypt

Dubai, March 24, 2014

A court in Egypt has sentenced 529 Muslim Brotherhood members to death, according to the Al Arabiya television channel on Monday.

These people were found guilty of murders and other crimes, the statement said.

In all, 545 Islamists were charged in the case and only 16 of them acquited, according to the AP news agency.

About 150 defendants appeared before court, the rest were sentenced in absentia.
