O Cross of the Lord! Direct us all on the path of salvation, establish peace and calm on our land, that we might live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honor.
And for us, friends, there are many instructive lessons in this wonderful event. The Lord ascends a high mountain. Let us also learn to detach ourselves from the noise of the vanity of life and climb the mountain of solitude, theology, and prayer.
O Cross of the Lord! Guide us all to the path of salvation, establish peace and calm in our land, so that we may live a quiet and peaceful life in all piety and purity.
How clear all the events of the Transfiguration of the Lord are now!
Call on the Holy Spirit—always keep your hearts pure so as not to drive away the Holy Spirit from them but to attract Him.
Christ promised to be with us forever. Why then should we be afraid?
O inexhaustible and inexpressible Divine Love! Our sweetest Jesus! To such measure hast Thou loved man—the most contemptible and ungrateful creature!
The first path of earthly well-being is the path of destruction in eternal life; the second path, bitter and dark here, leads us to the source of light and truth.
Let us also be transfigured from darkness to light, from sin to a virtuous life, from disobedience to God’s will to the possibility of its complete fulfillment; let us be transfigured not by our external life but our internal life, the life of our immortal soul.
Her life is one of the most striking examples of how the grace of God can revive even the most sinful of souls, and raise it up from the chasm of ungodliness to the heights of spiritual glory.
A wondrous sight! The King of the universe is baptized by a servant, the Creator of the seas and waters is in want of the waters of Baptism, He Who holds all creation in His hand submits below the hand of the Forerunner. And all for the sake of mankind! God humbled Himself below all the sons of men. Such is the love of Christ. In this is the law; in this is the righteousness of this love.
