Anatoly Aleshin is an iconographer and master of mural painting, including frescoes. In 1986, he graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute. In 1991, he entered, and in 1995 he graduated from the Iconography School of the Moscow Theological Academy, where he now teaches.
He has painted and helped to paint many churches, including the crypt of St. Gregory of Novgorod in the Cathedral of St. Sophia (Veliky Novgorod), the narthex of the Church of the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils of Danilov Monastery in Moscow, Holy Trinity Cathedral at St. Pachomius of Nerekhta Monastery, the church at the Russian pilgrims’ house at the site of the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan, churches of Diveyevo Monastery, and others.
