The Patriarch of Bulgaria has returned home after two weeks spent in a Sofia hospital.

“After fourteen days of treatment at Sofiamed University Hospital, His Holiness Patriarch Neofit of Bulgaria was discharged and returned to the Patriarchal Home at the Sofia Holy Metropolis, where he will continue with rehabilitation procedures until his full recovery,” the Bulgarian Patriarchate reported yesterday.

His Holiness was hospitalized on May 10 after suffering an accident at home that left him with a fractured left femur. He underwent a successful surgery, for which the Patriarch thanks the surgeon and all the hospital staff.

Pat. Neofit underwent a serious heart surgery in 2011, a year before his election to the primatial throne. He also spent about a month in the hospital in April-May, 2018, after he fainted in his chambers, and about a week in the hospital last June.
