Since the beginning of the war in February, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has stood beside all those who suffer and those who help them, offering significant humanitarian assistance to families and hospitals throughout the country.

Most recently, several dioceses have donated ambulances to their local hospitals.

On July 8, the Holy Protection charitable foundation of Protodeacon Vadim Novinsky donated an ambulance to the central district hospital in the city of Pogrebysche, Vinnitsa Province. The vehicle was blessed by His Eminence Metropolitan Barsanuphius of Bar, reports the Information-Education Department of the UOC.

The next day, His Eminence Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa blessed 10 ambulances purchased by Novinsky’s foundation for hospitals in Odessa and the Odessa Province.

In his address on the occasion, “Metropolitan Agafangel noted that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has always been and will always be with its people, and such good deeds as the handing over of ambulances are evidence that our people in unity will be able to overcome all those difficulties that have befallen Ukraine,” the UOC reports.

And on Tuesday, His Eminence Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye blessed five ambulances purchased by Novinsky’s foundation for Zaporozhye hospitals.

Met. Luke also emphasized that the Church again proves how faithful it is to the Ukrainian people in this difficult time.
