Moscow, March 17, 2014

Online tours of the Kremlin cathedrals, the Church of Placing of the Honorable Robe of the Mother of God, and the "Ivan the Great" bell tower in Moscow have been launched on the internet, reports Tserkovny Vestnik ("Church Bulletin").

They have become a part of the renewed internet resource of the "Moscow Kremlin" State historical-cultural reserve.

Now the network look of the Moscow Kremlin Museums has obtained a portal structure: a separate website is dedicated to each of the nine museums.

The main innovation of their contents, in addition to the information on history of the monuments, architecture and decoration details, is an online tour with a dynamically appearing (on the monitor screen) interactive information on one or another exhibit, element of architectural decoration and interior furniture. Such online tours of five museums, situated in church buildings: the Dormition, Archangel Michael's and Annunciation Cathedrals, the Church of Placing of the Honorable Robe of the Mother of God and the "John the Great" bell tower can also be made.

Online ticket sales to the Kremlin museums can now also be made on the new website. The site issues an electronic voucher, which the visitor then takes to booking office no. 12 or no. 13 at the Alexandrovsky Garden outside the Kremlin walls. There are also self-service terminals in the same location for this purpose. This innovation will prevent a long wait in line for tickets.

"The new Moscow Kremlin Museums portal, preserving the informational richness of the previous version, has been developed with due account taken of demands of the modern public and the latest technologies. It makes cooperation with the audience more interactive and provides ample opportunities for various professional and social groups: scientists, students, education workers, parents with children, Russian and foreign tourists. Everyone will find here relevant information for his/her research activities, educational projects, and effective leisure," related deputy director general of the Moscow Kremlin Museums for development of educational activities and popularization Olga Dmitrieva to Tserkovny Vestnik.
