An attempted terrorist attack at the pilgrimage site of the Biblical patriarch, Joseph, was averted by Israeli forces.
CBN News reports that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israeli Defense Forces prevented the four would-be bombers from carrying out their plans.
The Shin Bet has identified all four members of the attack.
Two of the would-be attackers are cousins. Nasim Damiri was previously jailed. His cousin, Mohammed Damiri, is a Palestinian Authority police officer.
The two others involved in the planning of the attack are Yasser Tzarawi who is a known member of Hamas and Adwan Nizel who is a known Islamic Jihad member.
All four individuals were interrogated and revealed their specific plans for the attack, which thankfully was discovered before it could be carried out.
Joseph’s tomb is a popular pilgrimage site in Israel and is located where the children of Israel buried Joseph’s bones after carrying them out of Egypt, according to the Bible.
Other terrorist attacks have occurred at the site, including the murder of the nephew of then-Culture Minister Limor Livnat who was shot by a Palestinian policeman in 2011 as he drove away from the site.
