We must glorify God by our deeds, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry said in his sermon on the feast day of the Holy Martyrs Florus and Laurus at the Kiev Florivsky (“of Sts. Florus and Laurus”) Convent of the Ascension, reports the information and educational department of UOC-MP.
According to the archpastor, the example of life and martyrdom of Sts. Florus and Laurus teaches us to be firm and faithful to God even to the point of death.
“We are taught that man can remain faithfull to the Lord until the end and do everything in his life for the glory of God,” His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry stressed.
The primate of UOC-MP noted that it is possible to serve God anywhere.
“There are various professions: you can be a builder, a tailor, a doctor, an artist, and so on,” he said. “Whatever you do, in whatever circumstances you are now, your deeds and actions must be aimed at glorifying the Name of God."
