Another 30 souls united to Christ in mass Baptism in Congo

Dolisie, Congo, December 30, 2019

On December 24, 52 catechumens of all ages were baptized and chrismated at the Cathedral of St. Demetrios in Pointe-Noire, Congo by His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon of Brazzaville and Gabon.

On Saturday, December 28, another 30 catechumens underwent the washing of regeneration by the hands of Met. Panteleimon, this time at the Church of St. Irene in the city of Dolisie in the southwestern province of Niari in the Republic of the Congo, reports Romfea.

As always, Met. Panteleimon described and interpreted the service of Holy Baptism and Chrismation and addressed a paternal word of encouragement to the newly-illumined.

The hierarch then met with the Director and children of the St. Eustathius Orphanage, speaking on the theological message of the feast of the Nativity of Christ. The children were also treated to candy and refreshments.

117 people were united to Christ in two mass Baptisms last December. In February, more than 500 Tanzanians received holy Baptism, and in October, 75 were baptized in Uganda.
