Unknown perpetrators pelted the Kursum Mosque in the city of Trikala in central Greece with rocks on Monday, breaking several windows in the door to the 16th-century Ottoman mosque.

According to information from trikalanews.gr, the attack was in response to Erdoğan’s decision to convert Agia Sophia back into a mosque.

The municipality of Trikala has been informed of the incident, which occurred at night, and police are looking for the perpetrators and taking measures to prevent such attacks from happening again.

The Kursum, or Osman Shah Mosque, was built by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan and is the only monument of culture and art created by him that has been preserved on the territory of modern Greece.

This is not the correct way to respond to Turkish aggression on Hagia Sophia. This Muslim community in Greece is not responsible for the actions of the Turkish government. There are morally correct ways to protest against the Turks. This is not one of them.
