There is a New World Order at work today, intent on destroying the “God-given integrity of marriage” and the family institution. This is clearly seen in how LGBT parades combine debauchery with blasphemy, says His Eminence Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
His Eminence writes about the family as the guardian of Orthodox values and the unfortunate attacks against it in his Telegram post dedicated to the Orthodox Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, celebrated annually on the feast of Sts. Peter and Febronia today.
“Unfortunately, we have to admit that the family and the Church are two strongholds that the enemy of the human race is trying to destroy with all his might. He works against them in the same way, using lies and slander, trying wherever possible to disintegrate them from the inside and break them into pieces,” the Ukrainian hierarch writes.
This is no surprise, as the family is traditionally understood as a “little church” and the guardian of Orthodox values. “If we carefully read the lives of the saints, we will see that most of those people who are glorified with God were brought up in pious and believing families,” Met. Luke notes.
Before the revolution, the Russian Empire knew no family divorces, he continues. In the USSR, there were divorces, but nonetheless, the situation was generally better than today, the Metropolitan writes.
The decomposition of family life has been increasing since the mid-20th century, His Eminence adds, and “we can easily trace the cause of this phenomenon … to the passion of fornication.” In addition to an increase of divorce, the pursuit of pleasure has also brought an increase in the number of abortions, mental illnesses, drug addiction, and suicides.
It turns out that pleasure has a dark side, “which is called ‘suffering,’” His Eminence underlines.
And concerning the debauchery and blasphemy of the New World Order and LGBT marches, Met. Luke states:
The New world Order has openly declared war on the family. It is intended to finally destroy the God-given integrity of marriage. Take a closer look at the faces and behavior of adherents of the new gender policy who take part in LGBT parades. Do they look like an unfortunate, suffering minority, hunted by a totalitarian conservative society? No. This is an impudent community of debauchery flaunting its licentiousness. But if we are even more attentive, we will see that not a single LGBT march is complete without blasphemy against Christ and Christianity. Blasphemy is inseparable from debauchery for these people, because the nature of this phenomenon is located in one place—in the devil's world, from where it received its being.
His Eminence concludes: “Therefore, on Orthodox Family Day, I want to wish my readers to be warriors of light, protecting their families from all the abomination trying to break into us. Educate your children so that nobility, loyalty, purity, and chastity would become a reliable protection for them from everything that could harm their souls.”
Met. Luke made a similar statement last August, calling on local authorities to cancel a scheduled LGBT march.
