The last words of Christian girl burned alive by ISIS bandits: “Forgive them!”

Mosul, May 24, 2016

The last words of a Christian girl who was burned alive by ISIS bandits were: “Forgive them!” She whispered them before her death to her mother. The girl received severe burns and lived just a day after the ISIS militants had stormed into her family’s house in the Iraqi city of Mosul and set it on fire, reports

The story of this twelve-year-old girl is only one of many similar stories shared at a conference to aid persecuted Christians in the Middle East countries which was held in New York. The jihadis burst into her family’s house and said to her mother: “Now you will either beat it or pay for your infidelity, as the Surah Al-Jathiyah demands!” (This is a surah of the Qur’an according to which those who venture to disbelieve the signs of Allah are punishable by death). “I will pay and we will leave. Just give us time to pack our things!” the mother cried out. But the gunmen replied: “You have no time!” Then they poured benzine into the room and set fire to it. The mother and the daughter managed to get out of the raging flames, but the girl suffered severe fourth-degree burns and passed away in the hospital in her mother’s arms with the final words: “Forgive them.”

The human rights activist Jacqueline Isaac who shared this story at the conference said: “There is always a light beam in the black abyss. And as long as we have this light, there is a hope.”

I just stumbled upon this article now! Carl, are you ok? You obviously don't know an Iraqi Christian...I'm married to one, and I hear the stories from family who are still left living there... You however are living in la-la land if you believe there are no such cases.. Furthermore, since this is a Christian website, that reports Christian stories and points of view, your Isis sympathizing statements have no place here..

Marie -

I'm surprised that this site is publishing anti-Muslim fearmongering propaganda. I do not believe this story is true - I have reasons to believe that it is entirely fabricated. ISIS was created to serve the interests of Western globalization and Zionist expansion in the Middle East. It is not a Muslim organization - it is a front. Extremist Muslim organizations do not stand to benefit from a destabilized Middle East. No one is burning little girls alive in Iraq, Marie. Be serious. The Muslim people are the ones that are truly suffering over there - their entire culture is being destroyed. Their nations are being torn into pieces to make room for "democracy." But meanwhile, no one in the West cares about them, all I hear about here is "persecution of Christians." Well, the fact is, that it is the Arab Muslims that are being truly persecuted. Write an article about that.

If this was a true story I would not have written that comment. Propaganda = information, especially of a biased, misleading, or false nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.

Thank you.

Carl, are you really such a cynic? What is ridiculous about a girl who has been burned to death and asks her mother to forgive the perpetrators? I'm surprised that this site posted your cynical comment.

Carl appears to have no understanding of Christianity. Very deeply sad to read his comment. Memory Eternal for this young girl!

Very cruel and sad reports. Believers got at least two powerful pacific weapons : Holy Cross, and joining altogether for praying continiously Almighty Jesus and his Mother most helpful Virgin Mary, for mercy, assistance and help.

I wish that you wouldn't publish sensationalistic propaganda bits like this anymore. This is ridiculous.
