On Saturday June 19, the St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Pro-Life Society (formerly known as OCLife New York) will hold a moleben near an abortion clinic at 14 Dekalb Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11201, starting at 1 PM.

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Michael of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America, the pro-life group has formally changed its name to evoke the intercession of the holy Prophet and Baptist John, who notably leapt from within the womb at the presence of Christ (Luke 1:41-44).

At the previous prayer service, Abp. Michael expressed: “Is there not another way, whatever the problem is, other than killing the baby? That’s the question we need to ask. That’s the answer we need to work for, and that is the goal that we have to pray to God to help us achieve as we continue to fight for life in this land.”

With that, St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Pro-Life Society calls on all Orthodox Christians, from every state in America, to band together and start their own independent pro-life initiatives and join the fight against baby murder. Christians are stronger together, and we need to rally against this ancient evil.

As Abp. Michael also said during the last moleben: “We need to ask the question, no matter what the problem is— and I am sure there are problems; I don’t question there are problems—but in this country with all its resources, all its advantages, all the people who want to adopt children, is there not another way besides murdering a baby. That’s the question. Is there not another way?”

Great question Peter. Maybe you should ask him if you are part of the OCA? Prepare for persecution when you do, because such men typically do not like to be questions by the peasant class laity, unless you are Catholic or rich of-course!
