More than 30 children and adults were baptized in two days in the Missenyi District of Tanzania.
On Sunday, the Diocese of Bukoba and Western Tanzania of the Patriarchate of Alexandria reported on Metropolitan Chrysostomos’ visit to the Church of St. Jerome in Bunazi where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy and baptized 4 adults and 10 children.
On Monday, the diocese reported on the hierarch’s visit to the mud hut Church of St. Marina in Itala, where he celebrated Liturgy for the parish’s patronal feast.
That afternoon, he moved on to the neighboring Byambutembe, where the faithful awaited him. There, the Metropolitan led the Baptism of another 12 children and 8 adults.
Thus, 34 people were united to Christ in the purifying waters of Baptism in two days.
